What vaccinations do my pets need before staying at The Pet Spot?

Dogs: DHLPP, Rabies and Bordetella & flee free

Cats: FVRCP, FELV (if indoor cat, must bring letter from vet stating FELV is not necessary) and Rabies

What does my dog need to be admitted to daycare?

Your dog will need to be left for a day in order to go through a human and other dog aggression test. Evaluations for daycare should arrive no later than 9:00am on their first day and must plan on staying a minimum of 4 hours, but as long as possible is preferred.

Do I need an appointment for daycare?

No. Once your dog has passed the aggression evaluation, an appointment is not necessary for daycare. We are open Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 7:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Sunday daycare 10:00am – 6:00pm.

Can I come by for a tour?

Yes. Suggested tour times are Monday through Friday from 9:00am – 5:00 pm.

Should I bring my own food for boarding?

Yes. For the health of our resort guests, we have changed our policy on providing food. The Pet Spot (TPS) strongly recommends all customers bring their own food from home to keep their pet’s diet consistent. TPS management made this new policy because a change in diet may cause digestive difficulties, upset stomach and allergic reactions. We do recommend splitting each individual meal by portion in separate zip lock bags.

Can I bring my dog’s bed or blanket?

Yes, you may bring your dog’s bed or blanket for boarding as long as it is machine washable.

How many times a day will my dog go outside?

If your dog is boarded and is not enrolled in daycare, then your dog will go outside 3 times a day: morning, noon, and night.

Do you administer medications?

Yes, we administer all medications according to your veterinarian’s instructions free of charge.

I have two dogs boarding together. Will you feed them separately?

Yes, we will feed your dogs separately according to your instructions

Does The Pet Spot have a veterinarian?

If veterinary attention is required we will use your current veterinarian, Oakley Animal Hospital, or MedVet Cincinnati. This will be determined at our discretion based on the seriousness of the issue, proximity of your veterinarian, and appointment availability. The Pet Spot does not have a veterinarian on staff.
